Houjicha Powder - Roasted green tea - 50 g

Do you like Japanese green tea? Houjicha is a roasted green tea with a reddish-brown color. First of all, the best leaves are picked (first pick). Then the tea leaves are steamed. Finally, the leaves and stems are roasted in a heated porcelain pot. As a result, the tea leaves change from green to a warm reddish-brown color. Finally, the roasted tea leaves are ground into Houjicha powder!

Preparation Houjicha powder tea Hug the Tea:

Amount of water: 60 ml
Water temperature: 80 degrees
Put 1 till 2 gram of houjicha powder (through a sieve) in a bowl (preferably use a matcha bowl)
Pour 50ml of water at 80 degrees on it
Beat it for 15 sec with a beater, you can use a matcha bamboo whisk for this
Tip: add 100-150 ml frothed milk for a (iced) Houjicha Latte: recipe here!
