Looking for the perfect summer matcha drink? This Floral Cherry Iced Matcha Latte combines earthy Matcha with sweet homemade cherry purée and creamy rose-infused pink milk for a refreshing café-style latte at home. The floral notes from the rose syrup pair beautifully with the rich cherry flavor, while the layered presentation makes it just as stunning as it is delicious.
Tools & Equipment
- Bamboo whisk (chasen)
- Electric milk frother
- Small saucepan
- Bowl (chawan)
- Drinking glass
Ingredients (for 1 latte)
Homemade Cherry Purée
- 100 g frozen cherries
- 1–2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp water
Latte
- 3 grams ceremonial or premium grade Matcha
- 50 ml cold water
- 150 ml cold milk
- oat, almond, soy, or coconut milk
- Ice cubes
- 1 tsp rose syrup
- ½ tsp pink or red food coloring
- Dried rose petals
- Optional: fresh cherries for garnish
Directions
Step 1 — Make the Cherry Purée
Add the frozen cherries, sugar, and water to a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until the cherries soften and become syrupy. Mash or blend into a smooth purée and let it cool completely.
Step 2 — Prepare the Pink Rose Milk
Add the milk, rose syrup, and food coloring to a milk frother. Use the cold setting if available until the milk becomes lightly frothy and soft pink.
Step 3 — Whisk the Matcha
In a bowl, whisk the matcha with the cold water for about 20 seconds until smooth and lightly foamy.
Step 4 — Assemble the Latte
Spoon 2 tablespoons of cherry purée into the bottom of a glass and fill with ice cubes. Pour in the pink rose milk, then slowly pour the matcha shot on top to create a beautiful layered effect. Finish with dried rose petals and optional fresh cherries.
Tip
Oat milk creates an extra creamy texture and complements both the floral rose flavor and sweet cherry notes beautifully.
